General FAQs


1) How will I know if my college is already a part of EDUvis?

To check if your college is already part of EDUvis you have two options.

- Click on the COLLEGES tab on the menu of our www.eduvis.in homepage and search if your college is registered
OR
- Type your college name in the search box in our homepage of www.eduvis.in and press enter. If your college is registered with us, we will display it along with colleges with similar names.

2) What if a person registers a college twice?

The chances of this happening are slim, as before we approve every college, we enquire with the college and our team will ensure the same college won’t be registered twice.

3) The website has a lot of errors in it, are they going to be there forever?

Dear user, this website is still in BETA phase, which means, there may be minor errors. We rely on our valuable users, to report them to us. At the bottom right corner, we have an option called REPORT BUG. Whenever you encounter an error or a problem, click on that link and enter your problem, our technical team will attend to it that very instant.

4) Many EDUvis features not working. Why not?

These features are a snap shot of what the future holds for you. EDUvis is constantly working to make video streaming more convenient for its users at the same time keeping in mind to keep it simple. Kindly bear with us.

5) I confirmed my email but I can't log in, why is that?

Try clearing your cache and temporary internet files, re-launch the browser and try again

6) What are the precautions for public/shared computers?

- Please ensure not to store any usernames or passwords

- Remember to log out of your account before you leave the system

- Clear the cache and history on that system before you leave

8) Will you provide more info on account activity?

This is a feature we will incorporate in our next release. You will have details on last account activity, IP address details, time etc.

9) Sign up trouble

Please ensure you have entered the correct information or try clearing your cache and history and re-launch browser and try again. If problem still persists, contact us.

10) Account information security

Your account information and details are secure with us. We hold user privacy and confidentiality in high regard. There is no way any of the user information will be divulged to unauthorized personnel.

Module Specific FAQs


College Registration/Sign Up


1. What if my college is not registered? Can I still upload or view videos?

Ummmmm, we are afraid not. This service is totally free to students and they must be a registered user to upload or view most of the files. It’s only a matter of minutes.

2. What if my college is wrongly registered on EDUvis?

EDUvis, is not responsible for any person signing up a college or a user on its/his/her behalf or otherwise. EDUvis though will verify the details provided during registration before approving a college or user. If any colleges are found on EDUvis that have been wrongly registered, kindly inform us. We will delete them.

3. Will all the details be verified as mentioned?

You can rest assured that, if you have provided any sort of details in the sign up columns, we will verify them. Please remember, EDUvis is not a social networking site with video sharing but an educational portal where students and faculty can share videos, equally to their benefit.

College Login/Sign In


1. Where do I sign in from?

If you are an already registered user, click on the LOGIN link on the top right corner under the menu bar on our www.eduvis.in homepage and type your username and password.

User Registration/Sign Up


1. Is it necessary for a user to be registered under a college to view a video?

We repeat, EDUvis is not a social networking, video sharing website where anyone can upload and view any video. Valid credentials are required to be eligible to upload and view videos.

2. Why do you ask for our University Registration Numbers (URN)? Isn’t this meant to be confidential?

Yes, it is and we treat it with the same respect. Your URN won’t, at any point in time, be divulged to any third party other than your college, unless in the case of fraud or a malpractice.. We ask for this piece of information to authenticate your identity. The mentioned URN will be cross checked with your college. If your college denies the URN mentioned by you, at any time, you will be deleted from EDUvis immediately.

3. The username that I want is not available, what do I do?

My gawd! Are you in a pickle! I guess the only option is to….hmmmm…..let’s see, try another username!!!

User Login/Sign In


1. I can’t login to my account.

You must have entered your credentials wrong. If you have forgotten your password, try the password recovery link.

2. I confirmed my email but I can't log in, why is that?

Try clearing your cache and temporary internet files, re-launch the browser and try again.

User Home


1. What is this page?

This is your home, which displays the Most Popular Videos in your college, the Most Popular Videos on EDUvis for easier navigation.

2. How do I add videos to my Favorite’s list?

Every video thumbnail has a star at its bottom right hand corner. Click on it and the video will be added to your Favorite’s list.

3. What is the use of Favorite’s list?

Favorite’s list helps you to navigate quicker than usual in the case of an emergency or even otherwise. It makes it convenient for you to pull out a video that you quite often view.

My Profile


1. I can’t seem to be able to change my URN, why is that?

Why do you want to change it? We will wait till your college approves it. If there seems to be a mistake, you will be contacted on your mobile number before deleting you. If you still insist on changing it, please mail us your new URN along with your username and email id.

2. What happens if I change my email id and/or mobile number?

If you change any of the above, a re-confirmation email will be sent to your new email id and a new mobile number verification code will be sent to your phone. Both these, new credentials have to be verified if you want to continue using EDUvis.

My Uploads


1. What all can I edit in videos I already uploaded?

You can edit video details such as Title, Tags, Description, Category etc

User Upload


1. What all can I upload?

You can upload videos of experiments, award functions, seminars, presentations, lectures, project demos. Basically, you can upload anything pertaining to education.

2. Can I change details of video while it is being uploaded?

Ummmm, nope, you can’t do that. You will have to wait until the video is uploaded and approved by our team.

3. Why isn’t my video visible on the site yet?

That is because, it has not being approved by our team yet. If your video is not visible after 2 working days, the video either might have violated a copyright or a moral law.

4. The category I want is not there, what do I do?

We have ensured the most prominent categories are given in the drop down list. If you feel we have missed out on something please send us an email with the category you want to add. We will check and approve it, if necessary.

5. Up to what size can I upload at one point of time?

EDUvis allows users to upload up to 200 MB at a given time. Anything above this will not be accepted and thus return an error.

Video Viewing


1. How do I comment on a video?

Click on the COMMENT ON THIS VIDEO link below the video player, to reveal the comment box. You can type your comments in this box and post it.

2. How do I rate a video?

There are 5 stars below the video player. Depending on your choice of rating for the video, click on a star. This rating will be automatically saved.

3. My comments and ratings are not seen, why not?

Please refresh the page to view you ratings and comments.

4. This video has got abusive content, what to do?

This is highly impossible as each and every video undergoes heavy manual screening. If you still find I abusive, click on the REPORT ABUSE button below the video player and we will get an intimation immediately. We will review it once again and if found abusive, deleted on the spot.

5. Why isn’t my video being displayed in any of the most popular boxes?

Ummmm…We are sorry to inform you, but that means your video is just not popular and no one is watching it. Try and suggest it to your friends, as you will appear on that list the as more users view it.

6. How many comments can I post at a time?

You may post as many comments as you wish. There is no restriction on that front.
